Epilepsy Association of Utah

Our Mission

The Epilepsy Association of Utah is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals living with epilepsy and seizure disorders.

For over 40 years, the Epilepsy Association of Utah has tirelessly dedicated its efforts to building awareness, acceptance and support to the people of Utah. Whether or not Utahns live with epilepsy, it is our mission to educate people about epilepsy, reach out to people with epilepsy and raise awareness about what epilepsy is and what it is not. These three pillars provide the foundation for continued efforts in helping bring epilepsy out of the shadows of stigma and bathe in the warmth of acceptance.

Epilepsy Education
Education

1 in 3 people know someone with epilepsy, that’s over 100 million Americans. Why then, do we not teach seizure first aid alongside CPR in schools, hospitals and business. The Epilepsy Association of Utah is dedicated to educating the public about seizures, what to do when someone has a seizure and when is it necessary to intervene on the patient’s behalf.

Epilepsy Outreach
Outreach

Are you one of the 20,000 to 120,000 people in Utah that has a diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder? Well then, we are here for YOU! The Association works diligently on your behalf to ensure that you can live the life you thought seizures took from you.  It’s okay to go out and have fun, it’s okay to have a seizure at one of our events, the best of us almost always do. You are safe with us, we understand! See you soon!

Epilepsy Awareness
Awareness

Working with the Utah State Department of Health, Utah State Office of Education, Local and State Legislators as well as Hospitals and Doctors throughout Utah to help raise awareness, the Epilepsy Association of Utah also holds specific awareness events throughout the year. You may have epilepsy, but it does not have you!
